A Associação Brasileira das Indústrias Exportadoras de Carnes (Abiec) apresentou no último dia 3 para Federação de Agricultura e Pecuária de MS (Famasul) o projeto Pecuária do Brasil. O diretor executivo da Abiec, Fernando Sampaio, e o presidente da Famasul, Eduardo Ridel, debateram estratégias para melhorar a imagem do setor para a sociedade. A reunião contou ainda com a presença do presidente do Sindicato Rural de Campo Grande, Rui Facchini. “Queremos desmistificar a pecuária como agente de desmatamento e mostrar algumas das muitas contribuições do setor para o desenvolvimento do país”, explica Sampaio.

O projeto Pecuária do Brasil está sendo levado a todos os Estados. “No exterior, trabalhamos por muito tempo com o projeto Brazilian Beef, com o apoio da Agência Brasileira de Promoção de Exportações e Investimentos (Apex-Brasil) para divulgar as potencialidades da pecuária brasileira no mundo”, complementa.No Brasil, a carne é responsável pela receita de US$ 5 bilhões de dólares. De acordo com a assessoria técnica da Famasul, no ranking nacional dos estados exportadores de carne bovina, Mato Grosso do Sul ocupa a 4ª colocação. Os principais países compradores da carne sul-mato-grossense foram Irã,  Egito e Rússia.
