A presidente da Confederação da Agricultura e Pecuária do Brasil (CNA), senadora Kátia Abreu, falará sobre os cenários de crescimento da agropecuária brasileira – produção e sustentabilidade, na próxima quinta-feira (9/2), no David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, da Universidade de Harvard, em Cambridge, nos Estados Unidos. Participam do encontro professores e alunos do Programa de Estudos Brasil, reunidos para debater os desafios do agronegócio brasileiro para alimentar o mundo de forma sustentável. O workshop foi organizado pelos professores Aldo Musacchio, da Harvard Business School, e o professor Bem Schneider, do MIT (Massachussets Institute of Technology).

Fundada em 1636 e considerada uma das melhores universidades do mundo, Harvard conta entre seus professores com nada menos do que 43 prêmios Nobel e alunos ilustres, como o presidente norte-americano Barack Obama e Bill Gates, fundador da Microsoft. Logo após a palestra, a presidente da CNA visitará o MIT Open Course Ware, centro universitário de educação e pesquisa privado e um dos líderes mundiais em ciência e tecnologia.

Na sexta-feira, a senadora Kátia Abreu se encontra com o professor Daniel P. Sharag, diretor do Harvard University Center for the Enviroment, assessor do Presidente Barack Obama e do ex-vice-presidente Al Gore, considerado um dos maiores especialistas do mundo em mudança climática. A agenda da presidente da CNA nos Estados Unidos inicia na quarta-feira, em Washington D.C., com uma palestra para diplomatas brasileiros sobre a atual conjuntura do agronegócio no País, na sede da Embaixada do Brasil.
